Egyptian Earrings: King And Queen
These Egyptian stamps from 1972 are among my all-time favorites! The series only had these two stamps (his and hers), and marked the 50th anniversary of the discovery of Tutankhamen’s tomb. This image is of the pharaoh and his wife Ankhesenamun, carved in bas-relief on the ivory lid of a coffer; it was among the tomb’s treasures, now in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. These are trimmed with a pair of faceted crystal drops.
Please note: at the moment, only prints of these stamps are available, as the originals are increasingly rare.
